She walked with Dr. King, turned down a marriage proposal from Bob Dylan, and has been uplifting the masses with her blues songs since 1948. It was an honor to have Miss Mavis Staples on our stage on Sunday evening.

Today's festival memory comes from Tanajia, who captured this video during Tank and the Bangas' performance and shared the following story with us:

"Mother, Tanajia and daughter, Laila (who is an aspiring singer) enjoying Tank and the Bangas! This is our second concert/festival and we enjoyed it! I won VIP wristbands through Veterans United and the only person I wanted to take was my daughter! What a perfect experience for her Senior year!"

@tankandthebangas 's high energy set was certainly a show stealer at this year's Roots N Blues. From that unexpected but perfect Nirvana cover to the saxophone solos to Tank's incredible stage presence, we're sure it was a festival highlight for many of you.

@sherylcrow was a pretty epic closer for Roots N Blues 2021, huh? She’s been a household name for a couple of decades now, but she was once a small-town girl living in the rural Missouri boot heel. For these reasons, we chose to award her with the 2021 Missouri Roots Songbook Honor. The MRSH celebrates Missourians whose work has significantly contributed to music and culture. Sheryl Crow joined past Songbook honorees Chuck Berry and John “Blind” Boone and - rather fittingly - is the first woman to receive this award.

This was our first Brandi Carlile concert together as we are huge fans and have enjoyed and shared our love of her music on many of our first dates when getting to know eachother. We spent many virtual dates during the lockdown watching virtual concerts of Brandi Carlile and it because such a huge part of our relationship. When we got our tickets to RNB I knew immediately that this is the moment I wanted to propose to her and share such a special experience with her and apparently she had the same idea and planned a proposal for the same night! I had my hand on the ring box and turned to propose and she was already on one knee proposing 😭💕"

We've loved seeing your festival highlights. The first one we'd like to feature comes from Jacqueline and Adrien who got engaged during @brandicarlile 's set on Saturday night 💞Here's the story in Jacqueline's words:
